Coffee Right YOW: Origin Story
Specialty coffee and third-wave coffee culture continue to grow across Canada. And this is a good thing! It means you can enjoy better, more ethical coffees, from your home, to your office, to the local cafes you go to! The days of stale, pre-ground tin coffees are no longer the norm!
At the same time, there’s growing hype and demand across the country for fun specialty coffee festivals that showcase the most unique and ethical roasters and coffee brands! Ottawa was asking for their own specialty festival, and we wanted to fill that need and work with our roaster friends across the country. So we launched Coffee Right YOW, a festival by roasters and for roasters, where everyone in the city could come together to celebrate all things coffee—from hardcore fans to those just wanting to have a good time and enjoy some tasty brews and eats with their friends and family.
We also wanted this event to be as accessible as possible, so that all are welcome! That’s why the event is completely free, making it super easy for everyone to join in on the fun. And it’s taking place at the historic Parkdale Market, which is a central location with lots of great accessibility features.
By hosting this awesome gathering, Ottawa’s coffee scene is bound to get even better and keep growing, bringing more understanding and appetite for ethical, traceable and unique coffees.
